Cibola County Released Inmate Meaning
“Released” can mean that one facility’s custody ended. It does not always mean freedom in the community. A Cibola County detainee may post bond, receive a court release, finish a term, or be handed to NMCD, another county, USMS, BOP, or ICE. A state prisoner may leave prison on parole and remain supervised. The event must be read with its authority and destination.
The first record is the custody or release log. It ties a person and booking to an exit time, a release type or code, and sometimes a receiving agency. The court order explains legal authority. A state or federal system then shows whether another custodian took over. When these sources agree, they give a far stronger answer than a name disappearing from an online list.
| Event | What it means | Where to verify next |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or pretrial release | Community release under court terms while a case may remain open | CCCC intake, county log, originating court, Pretrial Services |
| Time served | A sentence credits the time already spent in custody | Judgment plus physical release or transfer log |
| Transfer to NMCD | County custody ends while state incarceration begins | NMCD Offender Search and records |
| Parole | Prison confinement ends with community supervision continuing | NMCD, Parole Board, and Grants Region I office |
| Federal or ICE handoff | The person leaves one bed but remains under another authority | Federal docket, USMS/BOP, or ICE ODLS |
Cibola County Release Record Fields
Cibola County publishes no online release-record field dictionary. A focused request should therefore name the fields needed to tell release from transfer. Ask for the booking sheet, custody or release log, booking photograph if relevant, and any code definition used by the custodian. Request the nonexempt portion even when another field must be redacted.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Booking number | Connects the event to one custody episode |
| Admission date and time | When that agency began holding the person |
| Release date and time | When physical custody at that facility ended |
| Release type or disposition | Bond, order, time served, transfer, or another coded event |
| Release authority | The court or agency that directed the event |
| Court or case number | Links the custody event to the legal file |
| Destination or receiving agency | Distinguishes community release from a custody handoff |
Retention is different from online visibility. Cibola County has no public release archive or stated web-retention window. Agency and court records may remain after a short stay, subject to retention rules, sealing, expungement, juvenile confidentiality, and other lawful limits.
Request Cibola County Release Records
The county transparency page names the Recording and Filing Deputy Clerk as public-records custodian and supplies the local IPRA path. Oral requests are allowed, but a written request triggers the enforcement and timing framework. Give contact details and describe the booking with reasonable particularity.
- Identify the full name, booking or case number, and approximate custody dates.
- Ask for the booking sheet and custody or release log with admission, exit, type, authority, and receiving agency.
- Request the booking photograph separately if needed and prefer electronic copies.
- Ask the custodian to redact or segregate exempt material and produce the rest.
- Confirm fees before copies are made and keep the written timing response.
If records are not available within three business days, the custodian must give written timing information. The ordinary production or denial period is generally 15 calendar days. A broad or burdensome request may take added reasonable time with notice. The county form lists $1 per ordinary legal or letter page or computer printout and no charge merely to determine if a record is public.
The local request instructions are shown in the captured county source.

Find Cibola County Released Inmates
Start at the last known custody. For a local arrest held at Cibola County Correctional Center, call intake at 505-285-4979 and ask a closed set of questions: Is the person held now? If not, was the event a community release or a transfer? What date, authority, or receiving agency is recorded? A simple “not here” answer is incomplete.
- Call CCCC intake with the person’s identifiers and booking or case information.
- Search New Mexico Case Lookup and identify the originating court and relevant order.
- Send the focused county IPRA request for the actual release or transfer log.
- If NMCD took custody, search Active or Include Inactive as the question requires.
- If ICE, USMS, or BOP took custody, switch to that authority’s locator and records.
- Use VINE only when the correct participating agency record is present, then confirm the alert.
No single no-hit proves release. NMCD does not cover ordinary county detention. BOP does not cover every USMS pretrial placement. ICE has a limited recent-release window. Cibola County has no verified live county roster at all.
Cibola County NMCD Release Search
The NMCD Offender Search covers people incarcerated or on state probation and parole. It does not have jurisdiction over city or county detention. A person who bonded out of a Cibola County case and never entered NMCD may never appear. For a former state prisoner, select Include Inactive rather than leaving the default Active choice unchanged.
| Search field | Use | Caution |
|---|---|---|
| Last and first name | Basic person search | Compare identifiers for common names |
| Offender number | Most precise NMCD identifier | Applies only to the state system |
| Active | Current prison or supervision starting point | Not a complete historical search |
| Include Inactive | Released or historical starting point | Read the exact result label |
| Absconder Only and region | Focused supervision search | Not a general release mode |
| Age range | Narrows similar names | Still compare the full record |
Research could not pass reCAPTCHA to verify an inactive result’s exact label, date fields, or photograph behavior. Do not assume the interface says Released or Discharged. For the certified history, ask NMCD Offender Management Services for the calculation, actual discharge entry, and parole material.

Cibola County Release Court Split
Cibola County’s bond page does not publish dollar amounts. It routes questions to Milan Municipal Court, Grants Municipal Court, Cibola Magistrate Court, or Cibola District Court. That local split matters because the court that set or changed conditions is the likely source of the controlling release order.
District Court handles felony and general-jurisdiction matters. Magistrate Court handles misdemeanors, DWI and traffic matters, plus preliminary felony work. The municipal courts cover their own domains. Search the docket summary, then obtain the underlying order or judgment from the clerk or re:SearchNM. “Closed” describes a case, not the hour a jail completed release.
The county bond page shows the four-court routing rather than a generic schedule.

The right court record explains legal authority, while the detention log supplies the later physical exit.
Cibola County Bond Release Paths
A bond release does not end the charge. It means custody ended under court-set terms after the required release mechanism was satisfied. Cibola County Pretrial Services offers a separate judge-ordered, non-monetary path. Its instructions call for in-person reporting unless otherwise directed and may include testing, GPS, Soberlink, counseling, or other conditions.
The court order, Pretrial Services record, and CCCC log answer three distinct questions: what the judge authorized, what community monitoring began, and when the facility actually released or transferred the person. Do not rename pretrial supervision as probation or parole. Those are post-sentence systems administered through NMCD.
Cibola County Release Custodian
Cibola County Correctional Center has historically held county, USMS, and ICE populations at the same building. That makes “released from CCCC” unusually ambiguous. A county detainee may go home, enter pretrial supervision, transfer to NMCD, or meet another hold. A USMS detainee may move to a contract bed or BOP. An ICE detainee may transfer or be released under immigration authority.
A March 2026 County Commission vote to exit a federal immigrant-detention agreement was a dated contract event. It did not by itself prove that all ICE custody at the building ended, since a direct federal and private arrangement could alter the contracting chain. Verify present individual status through the legal custodian rather than inferring it from county contracting news.
- Legal custodian
- The agency with authority over the person’s custody and record.
- Transfer
- An exit from one facility into another agency’s custody.
- Detainer
- A hold or notice from another authority that may continue custody after a local release order.
- Time served
- A sentencing result crediting custody already completed; processing and other holds still matter.
Cibola County Release Location Changes
The standalone county jail at 114 McBride Road closed in 2017. Current county detention instructions route calls to CoreCivic at Cibola Loop. Old commercial directories still repeat the former address and sometimes describe a live roster there. Historical bookings remain requestable, but no current caller should be sent to McBride Road as a release counter.
A second name change adds risk. The former Northwest New Mexico Correctional Center men’s site moved from private operation to NMCD in November 2021 and is now the men’s campus of Western New Mexico Correctional Facility. The women’s and men’s campuses are state prisons. Their releases belong in NMCD search, computation, discharge, and Region I supervision records, not in a county recent-release list.
Cibola County Release Notifications
New Mexico VINE provides person-specific custody notices through phone, text, or email when the relevant agency feed is available. It supports English, Spanish, and Navajo. Register on the correct person and agency record, keep the telephone PIN, and re-register after a transfer to a new participating agency. VINE is not a certified release order.
As verified July 29, 2026, NMCD said its VINE portion was under upgrade. Existing NMCD release alerts continued, while new NMCD searches, registrations, and notifications were unavailable. Cibola County participation was not proven by a current agency list. Test the live selection or call 877-551-8463 before relying on coverage.
For BOP custody, the federal locator can show a release date and Released or Not in BOP Custody wording. ICE ODLS covers current detainees and releases within its stated 60-day window. USMS has no comparable public person locator. A blank result outside a system’s scope proves little.
VINE event terms also require care. New Mexico describes release, out-to-court, and escape notices in supported feeds, but those events do not mean the same thing. Out-to-court is a temporary movement. Escape is an unauthorized absence, not a legal release. A notice from one county can also precede an immediate transfer into another county or NMCD. Save the agency name and time shown in an alert, acknowledge a phone notice with the PIN, and then check the named facility or court. That two-source step is vital in Cibola County because a physical move can cross legal systems without creating a community release.
Cibola County Release Reentry
Both Western New Mexico Correctional Facility campuses have locally anchored NMCD reentry programs. Community Corrections also runs residential recovery academies for some parolees needing transition support or facing violations. These services may be part of release planning, but enrollment is never proof of an actual prison discharge.
A state release is confirmed in sequence: signed judgment, NMCD time computation, actual discharge or parole record, and Region I supervision status where applicable. Cibola County falls within the Grants District Office 13B area. Probation may begin without prison, while parole follows prison confinement. The Cibola County post-release supervision page gives the local verification path.
Cibola County Release Expungement
New Mexico expungement expressly reaches booking photographs, fingerprints, booking sheets, and public corrections, court, and law-enforcement entries about an arrest, disposition, dismissal, or discharge. It removes general-public access but may not destroy every record or prevent criminal-justice access. After an order, agencies generally respond to the public as though the record does not exist.
The judiciary guide describes a one-year period from final disposition for several releases without conviction, including dismissal, acquittal, no bill, nolle prosequi, or covered discharge. Wrong-identity relief may be sought at any time. Conviction petitions depend on sentence completion, other requirements, tiered waits, and exclusions. A district-court petition is used even when the original matter arose below district court.
Juvenile matters follow separate confidentiality and sealing rules. Public Case Lookup has excluded juvenile criminal cases since July 1, 2007. Adult booking-photo and release-record steps should never be applied to a juvenile file.

Choose the channel by legal custody. A current facility answer establishes physical presence only at that building. A documentary release record supplies the exit event. The court supplies legal authority. State and federal systems show whether custody or supervision continued elsewhere.
| Question | Primary channel | What not to assume |
|---|---|---|
| County detainee left CCCC | Intake, county release log, court | “Not here” does not mean community release |
| State prisoner left WNMCF | NMCD Include Inactive, OMS, Region I | County jail channels do not prove it |
| Federal sentence ended | BOP locator and federal docket | Not in BOP custody does not rule out another authority |
| ICE custody changed | ODLS and ICE information line | A no-hit after the recent-release window is inconclusive |
| Court ended or changed the case | Case Lookup and clerk document | Docket time is not always jail exit time |
Cibola County Release Facilities
Four facility records shape the local search. Cibola County Correctional Center is the present county referral and a mixed-authority building. Western New Mexico Correctional Facility has separate women’s and men’s campuses under NMCD. The former Cibola County Detention Center is closed and matters only for historical bookings.
- Cibola County Correctional Center: confirm county, USMS, or ICE authority before following a release.
- WNMCF women’s campus: use NMCD offender, computation, and supervision records.
- WNMCF men’s campus: use the same statewide NMCD path under its current name.
- Former Cibola County Detention Center: request historical county and court records; do not seek current inmates there.
The correct path always follows the custody owner. Building names, old directory listings, and a vanished roster entry are not substitutes for the release or transfer record.
Facility contact also answers only part of the question. CCCC intake can report whether a person remains in that building, while NMCD central inmate records and the two WNMCF campus contacts serve state custody. Historical McBride Road requests go to county or court custodians rather than the closed address. When a record identifies a receiving agency, continue the search there and preserve the first facility’s exit record. That chain shows both when one custody ended and whether another began.
